NAME: Lieutenant/Acting Captain Buckland

LIVING ARRANGEMENT: A rather comfy cabin on HMS Renown. I just awoke from a
nap as a matter of fact.

FAVORITE PASTIME: Taking a refreshing nap in my cabin.

FAVORITE BOOK: "How to Survive a Mutinous Crew" By Captain William Bly.

THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD IS: Gaining command of a ship-of-the-line by
default when the Captain goes mad.

THE WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD IS: Suddenly realizing that, after twenty-two
years of lieutenancy, that I'm still unable to command.

FAVORITE SMELLS: Sea air, a fine wine...*gulp-sip*...and the smell of
victory!

WHAT'S THE FIRST THING YOU THINK WHEN YOU WAKE IN THE MORNING? Is he dead?
Damn...

BATTLE: SCARY OR EXCITING: Well, it depends, really. It's frightening if I am
one of the ones who acquires a head injury! However, I'd say it's pretty damn
exciting if it's clearing the ship of all those who are trying to plot
against me! But, I do regret the loss of life, Sir.

FAVORITE FOODS: Anything that isn't rotten or hasn't been taken from a
Spanish fort that's been under siege for God knows how long! You have proof
of that by taking a look at my tummy.

CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA: Chocolate. I've learned not to like vanilla. Too many
people have been calling me that as of late.

STORMS, COOL OR SCARY: I wouldn't know. I stay inside mostly when there's bad
weather.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ANYTHING IN THE WORLD, WHAT WOULD IT BE?: That everyone
would love ME! Have you any idea how hard it is to endure teasing by the
junior lieutenants? I can't very well shout at them! I'm English! And a true
Englishman isn't allowed to show any of his emotions.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE: That I could
change myself in a way that would make everyone love me!

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN IN LOVE? Yes...a wonderful girl by the name of
Madeira....I met her in Port.

IS THE GLASS HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL: HALF EMPTY!? Where have you gotten such
an idea!? It's a sacrilege to consider a glass half empty, or half full for
that matter! My glasses are always overflowing!

WHAT'S IN YOUR ANXIETY CLOSET: Junior lieutenants that are plotting against
me, a mad captain, and those damn Spaniards!

WHAT'S YOUR LOFTIEST DREAM: To become Admiral of a fleet that absolutely
adores me!

WHAT'S YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE: That that young Mr. Hornblower would be trying
to take my command away from me!

WHAT DO YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOU THAT YOU FEEL THEY DON'T: That I AM a
rather good commander...when my mind isn't preoccupied with plotting junior
lieutenants, mad captains, and sneaky Spaniards!

WHAT OTHER HH CHARACTER WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ANSWER THIS QUESTIONNAIRE:
Admiral Nelson. Yes, I agree that we haven't had the chance to actually SEE
the Admiral, but everyone around here keeps mentioning him and I'd like to
know a little more about the man!
